Learnings
Learning that builds clarity, curiosity and real-world understanding.
Teaching That Shapes Thinkers and Leaders
Thoughtful, child-centred policies that set Swaraj India apart.
1. Bagless Project Periods
For two weeks each year, primary students learn without heavy bags through activity-based modules, audio-visual sessions, field visits and teacher-designed worksheets. This period encourages joyful learning, creativity and hands-on engagement.
2. Value Education Sessions
Every morning begins with reflective discussions on ethics, global issues and life philosophies like Ikigai and Hygge. These sessions nurture emotional intelligence, awareness and thoughtful decision-making in students.
3. 100% Participation Policy
SIPS ensures that every child participates in annual sports, science and cultural events. This builds confidence, teamwork and equal opportunity for all learners.
4. Comfort-First Uniform Policy
The school has replaced traditional blazers with soft fleece jackets and formal shoes with comfortable sneakers. This shift prioritises student comfort, mobility and a modern approach to schoolwear.
5. C-Cube (Career & Counselling Cell)
The C-Cube Cell supports students with academic, emotional and time-management challenges. In-house counsellors provide personalised guidance to help them navigate school life with balance and confidence.
6. Intra-Class House Activities
Students choose from a range of competitions in music, dance, oratory and more during a dedicated activity week. This encourages creativity, self-expression and peer collaboration.
7. Academic Improvement Classes
Regular support classes help underperforming students strengthen foundational concepts and build confidence. The goal is to motivate learners to progress steadily at their own pace.
8. Light-Bag Schedule
Teachers from Grades 1–12 plan subject-specific days so students carry only what is necessary. This reduces physical strain and promotes student well-being.
9. Vocabulary Enhancement Program
Students from Grades 6–12 learn two new vocabulary words daily, shared by their class teachers. These words are discussed the next day, improving communication skills and language fluency.
10. Go Green Initiative
Since 1999, SIPS has maintained a public green belt opposite the campus in partnership with the Kanpur Municipal Commissioner. This reflects the school’s long-standing commitment to environmental responsibility.
11. Educational Tours & Outstation Trips
Structured trips for middle and senior students expose them to diverse cultural, historical and geographical experiences. These journeys deepen learning beyond the classroom and help students develop real-world understanding.
Student Government Body
The Student Government Body (SGB), established in 2005, is a defining leadership tradition at Swaraj India Public School. Students from Classes V, VII, IX and XI are entrusted with significant roles such as School Captain, Vice-Captains, House Captains, Marshals, and Cultural, Sports and Literary Heads. These positions give students the opportunity to practise responsibility, teamwork and disciplined citizenship through daily action.
